There are several months between November and July.
The sky and stars have changed radically and different constellations are now in the sky.

I suspect your star has moved significantly and maybe below the horizon.

I suppose it could be a couple of things. There have been multiple supernovae lately in astronomy news that could have been why it appeared then disappeared after only a week. Or it could just be your viewing conditions. I would say see if it comes back again. That would rule out the supernovae and maybe shed light on more possibilities. It could also be blocked from view by a different star or body or the light bent by a larger star. Lots of possibilities

Unless you were keeping detailed records of the star's position since November, it probably means that it was a planet which commanded your attention at that time, and then moved on.

could be the way the stars in the sky are aligned because of the seasons.
could also mean that the person knows you know they are okay and no longer need the sign.
