Last weekend I came home drunk in the middle of the night and wanted to make french toast. I got a bad burn that turned into a scar on my left arm.
:( don't drink and cook.

ADDED:
oh and don't try and cut your own hair with electric shears when you've been drinking too...trust me.

Well, one time I accidentally leaned against the cookie sheet. It was to close to the edge. I thought I would have a scar. It was right on my stomach and it was hideous! Then I took yams out of the oven to put the marshmallows on top and when I put it back in, I forgot to use the hot pad holders and I burnt both of my hands on thanksgiving. It hurt so bad.

I have 3 scars on my fore arms from oven burns. I'm kinda clumsy. I also shaved off the tip of my finger with a carrot peeler. I'm dangerous in the kitchen.

Only a minor first-degree burn from that. I had a second degree burn from an iron, though. The scar is still there, 14 years later...

Once, when I was babysitting, I was making macaroni on one of those flat-top stoves - you know the ones without a flame, just the surface heating up? - and went to brush some breadcrumbs off the stovetop. I forgot it was on, and got blisters on the tips of all five of my fingers and the heel of my hand.

I have been burned by pans and pots I am cooking with. I have never been burned by the oven itself. OUCH!

Always keep aloe vera plant near by---quick relief.
A potate is also good for burns.
Be more careful and use a potholder.
