Female circumcision in Arabic countries?

I've just heard, that in many Arabic countries, female circumcision is a common practice. Is Morocco one of the countries that follows this custom?

ok let me start by stating why female circumcision was practiced.
most of the cultures that do that believe that a woman should be a virgin when she marries so that was their way of making sure that a girl will not stray or have thoughts of sex & pleasure.
However now most of these countries are not allowed by law to preform them anymore.
if they do then they do it in illegal places & by unauthorised doctors.

This is a practice that I have never been able to understand and why it's condoned in the 21st century. I've read many books and articles about this and even spoke with an African woman who had this procedure done when she was a young girl, and to this day, she is deeply saddened by it.

If this practice of mutilation causes so much physical and emotional pain, why, why, why are women still permitting this to happen to them and their daughters? There comes a time when everybody has to make a stand for something....and this is an outrage!

Let's call it what it is: genital mutilation.

No decent Muslims Christians Jews Buddhists or others tolerate it. No scripture requires it.

If the religion is there, then yeah, probably. It may not be an actual 'known' custom, but since everything is covered, you'd never know.

They remove the clitt, which is the woman's origin of sexual pleasure. The Muslim men don't believe women deserve sexual pleasure like they do.
