A previous answerer has said that it's a metal and not a coin. I'm starting to believe that's true, but if not could someone please tell me otherwise. And if it is in fact a metal, could someone tell me if it's worth anything.

Thanks,

It is a medal and as I said, unless someone can see it, all will be guesses. It is worth as this type usually is $1 to $5 unless real silver or gold. There are very few of those out there. large dollar size medals of heavy bronze sometimes command a price as high as $20 it depends on it's weigh and how well the medal is made.

If it is a coin it will have a date, a mint mark and "United States of America" printed on it. If it has none of those, then it is more than likely a medal. Could not locate it in my coin medallion book. I suggest taking it to a coin dealer for appraisal. Good luck, I hope it's worth a whole lot to you.
