Are laptops allowed into airplanes?

yes, but your asked not too use them while aboard.
electronics that are on, can produce interference with the communications in the cockpit.
you wouldn't be able to get an internet connection up there anyway.
if its an old dell best leave it.

there maybe instances otherwise., i'm no globe trotter
besides, rules keep changing from time to time
internet access onboard was pretty commnoplace earlier, but severely restricted presently
hence, best confirm with airline / travel agent

Yes, they are, but you absolutley must adhere to all of the Stewardesses instructions on when and where they are allowed
