Unlike Disney (Pocahontas II, Cinderella II, Bambi II, Aladdin II, Aladdin III, Jungle Book II, Lion King II, Lion King III, etc.) Studio Ghibli does not appear interested in pursuing sequels.

The closest thing is The Cat Returns, which reused a couple of characters from Whisper of the Heart.

Tonari no Totoro was immensely popular, and it still is so. When we were in Tokyo a few years back, you could still buy stuffed Totoro figures in just about any toy store. And, yet, no sequel.

So I wouldn't be expecting one for Spirited Away.

I don't think any of Miyazaki's films have ever been turned into a series. It isn't that they aren't good, its just that he seems to prefer to move on and focus on another project.

doubtful. It was a stand-alone movie, and it has been out for several years, so it does not seem they are working on anything like that.
