Personally, I give her another 6 months to a year. The job doesn't fit her personality (CBS should have given it to the much more suitable John Roberts) and parting of the ways will be good for her too.

I think that your assessment is correct. I wouldn't be surprised if CBS already is formulating a graceful way out of this bad idea.

The thing is, Katie Couric realizes it was a mistake to take on that particular anchor position. She's probably a very nice person and she was good on the Early show, but she just doesnt fit where she is now. I'd be surprised if she lasts 6 months. We'll see.

Does it really matter? She is irrelevant, but so is network news. People of my generation are turning away from it as a news source and those younger than me have never relied on it as a news source. Through their obvious Liberal bias and non-news fluff pieces they have become just another TV show, not journalism. I for one say it's breathing it's last gasps of life and good riddance (they are little more that much rakers and traitors).

I think she'll last the rest of the summer, and then "resign to spend more time with her family" aka "get canned" at the start of the fall television season. There will be guest anchors for awhile until one clicks, then he (yes, it will probably be a man) will take over the position permanently.

She's a bubble gum bubble. And it's going to pop like a bubble. I never liked her at CBS. Liked her as morning show host, but she's weird on CBS News.

Katie Couric should join CNN. She would get more respect.

I have NEVER liked her. But then, I have never liked network news shows.

She has always seemed to talk down to people but it was obvious she didn't know what she was talking about. In other words, no credibility.

If they don't get rid of her, she'll take the whole thing down with her.

With all the stuff to get worked up about, this isnt one of them. I couldnt care less either way. Good for her to get a bizzillon $$ just to read.

I'll agree with you. She'd be lucky to last a year.
