If you're taking acting classes because you want to be rich and famous then quit the classes. If you are doing it because you have a passion for the craft then continue. Everyone who does this has the idea of great success in their mind. Almost no one achieves it. If you want to live a happy life keep your expectations in line with your reality. You've got to know that your chances are miniscule. No matter what you do. But that doesn't mean you can't become a great actor and practice your craft. And you know what, even if the chances are slim, try to make it big anyway. Go for it but don't expect it. You regret the things in life you don't do. Not the things you do.

If you are good at managing money. Take a job get a down-payment for a home. Buy now when prices are low. Try a newly developed area they usually appreciate. Then wait a few years and when the property values increase again (As long as we get a Democratic Candidate), sell and then move to New York. That way you have plenty of time to plan and you will have a cushion to pay for getting a place in NY. Make sure you have a job before you go! Fly up for interviews. Jet Blue has good rates. Good Luck! NY City is Great!

You should always have a back up. Only 1% of all actors actually "make it". Think of it this way, will every single kid at your school make it big? But u never know, get an agent and go to all the auditions u can get your hands on. But you have to be really sure you want this for the rest of your life... stockers, paporatzi. Just look @ Paris, Lindsay, and Brittney. Do u really want that for yourself? And no, most actors make poor money. Unless you make it huge.

The chances of being famous are the same if you lived anywhere. It's about being unique and exalent at what you do. When you love what you do people will see the pasion. If famous is what you want to be then you might want to try something like going over Niagra Fall in a boat. That will help you make it big time.
Try to set your goals at a level that you know that you can do. Take it one step at a time. Crawl before you walk. Did you know that they film more movies in Hollywood North,(Canada) then they do in New York. There is theatre all around the world if stage is your thing.
Set your goals and believe in yourself.
After all "Believing is Achieving."

No. Most of them end up on Rodeo Drive or Sunset Strip selling their bodies for a pimp. Actually, come to think of it, that's what most actors do in Hollywood anyway.
Even Brad Pitt talked about how he hated seeing these young wanna be starlets being picked up in limousines and driven to Hollywood parties just to be eye candy for rich uneducated short fat balding studio guys and getting returned by limo to their apartments at 5 or 6 in the morning after the short fat balding studio guys had had some fun.

Don't count on becoming famous. Hon, the acting school is not to help you become a great actor. You either have talent or you do NOT.

The possibility of fame is impossible to predict. MOST actors make very little money from acting.

hey...if u really like acting and u go to a great school, u are very lucky because other unfortunate people (like me) aren't that lucky, and we wanna do it because we want to do it....not because we wanna be famous....so keep in mind about this..
