What is the difference in width between "Extra-Wide" and "Wide" men's shoes?

I ask because my Cole Haan 13 extra-wide shoes fit a bit looser in the width and want to know if it's safe to go from "Extra-Wide" down to a "Wide".

Any help on the amount of differences between both widths, which I'd imagine is in centimeters/millimeters, is greatly appreciated.

In terms of measurement, that would go from a 4E to a 2E size.

If the 4E does fit looser when your feet are the most swelled, see if the 2E will fit.

The D - E- 2E - 4E measurements are pretty standard shoe widths industry-wide.

Five years down the road I'll be doing the same thing I'm doing tonight, trying to figure out what I'm doing tonight. Crichton sucks, King is worse. Seinfeld is alright though. I only play poker to make money, the game kind of sucks. Golf really sucks. But I can't give up my shirt I had in high school, its lucky. My buddies have less money then I do, I can't go to those losers for money. She's the one who wants to be treated equal, I'm just trying to do my part. Men become fathers, and I was a punk kid, I don't need to be raising another punk kid like me. My mom lives next door, I don't have to call her, I just head on over with a bagful of my laundry. I got fired from my job before I had a chance to quit. I do have an idea for a business though, I'm going to open up a bar. I just need to take those bartending classes first. In all fairness I have more practice with my own erogenous zones. I take at least an hour every night. I bring my own beer because then I can tell others they can't have any of my beer, so I never run out.

Try them on. You should try them on every time you buy new shoes, because your feet change and the shoes themselves are not always consistent.
