What subjuects do you have to be good at to be a political science major? a finance major?

I am deciding between two majors (Politrical Science and FInance). What subjects do you have to be good at and what skills do you need to be good at before entering either one of these fields?

Political Science doesn't need any skills that you don't need for any major.

For finance, math helps. Good economic intuition helps as well.

Political science is pretty much a study of history, government, and the law, and how each influences the other. You need to be able to memorize tons of information, to analyze that information, and to make predictions based on your analysis. You need to be able to devise and interpret poll data and understand domestic and foreign policy, which really means you need to understand people and what makes them tick. You would need to take a lot of courses in political science, including political theory, government, political policy, international affairs, etc., history, statistics, and English.

For finance, you need good math skills and a good head for business. You'll need good computer skills and especially the ability to use financial software programs and spreadsheets. A lot of what you will be studying is accounting. You would need courses in math, finance, economics, business, taxes, and accounting.
