Do you find it funny or interesting that a lot of people wish to be perfect like barbie or to be blonde, nice boobs, and all that but when it comes to picking the disney princess of your choice most girls pick Jasmine or Beauty instead of Cinderella or Aurora from sleeping beauty? Brunettes or dark heads win! Who knew?

I don't really care but the reason I posted was because I am proud that a lot of girls don't fall for the pressure. In my community it was always blonde, perfect body with blue eyes very superficial and probably b/c of the media blondes have more fun thing. I'm proud that they have gone beyond that and don't follow the barbie is perfect thing. Because I certainly don't think she is.

I agree with you whole heart-idly. I know that it has been a brand of beauty that has been over exposed to us and the trophy that we have intended to achieve in the past. I know guys who love a full figured Woman who will marry a trophy wife. We think that there are gays out there in a closet but I challenge that many people date/marry/ hang around with a type and not the person. I know people have probably very easily found another race very attractive and worry about what their family and friends will think or society for that manner.
Now in the defense of the barbie.....there are allot of Woman out their who are dying to be her.........she exists she is beautiful TOO. But how many woman die trying to attain her weight or depression from the disillusion she will never compare. Know that it is not the white Blondie who has created this but the media and Hollywood and the fashion world. And those of us vain enough to relish in fitting the mold. Otherwise, beautiful people come in different shapes and colors and cultures.

Well if you JUST tooka sruvey of Blondes and Brunnies I would say Blondes Would win. Just because people pick Sleeping beauty or Whatever doesnt Mean Brunnie swin, rofl.
I went to Read to a class of little girls amd when i showe dthem the books all the girls besides 3 say Sleeping beauty.
Not all people wanna look like barbie or have big boobs. Its called Class. I am a Blonde but i would rather be a brunnie.
Im not trying to stand up for myself..
But its an OPINION.
Its not a fact that people like brunnies or blondes better.
Whatever happened t Pink and blue hair?
or maybe Red heads?
Why didnt you include them in your question?

There are only three blonde Disney princesses: Cinderella, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and Rapunzel. Snow White was the first Disney princess - black hair, caucasian Ariel - red hair, caucasian Belle - brown hair, caucasian Jasmine - black hair, Arabic Tiana - black hair, African American Unofficial Disney princesses: Pocahontas - black hair, Native American Mulan - black hair, Chinese Not to mention the other main Disney ladies: Esmeralda - black hair, Romanian (gypsy) Jane - brown hair, caucasian Megara - brown hair, caucasian Wendy - light brown hair, caucasian Alice - blonde hair, caucasian That leaves only four of the main female Disney characters blonde. One redhead. Ten brunettes. So no, stories about blonde white females do not make up 99% of Disney's work.

Hmmm.
You know, some people actually have blonde hair....

I think most girls choose someone they can identify with. There are more brunettes, ergo, more identify with Beauty and Jasmine.

I always identified with Aurora, myself.

Imagine all of them bald...
(like if they would all shave their head out of solidarity for a friend who has cancer...)

Then who, do you think, would be picked?

I think it was not all about the hair...it was also about the character and personality.
Hair can be changed easily but a good character goes a long way.

I find it ironic that most people would find Barbie beautiful when realistically most of us have characteristics most similar to that of Princess Fiona after 6:00p.m.

Actually I think that we need to stop teaching fairy tales and happily ever afters and start teaching kids reality from the start. If they understand that what reality is and stop dreaming sooner...there would be less disappointed people in the world
