Not possible. As you start moving towards the end of the rainbow, the rainbow will start moving away from you or it may begin to vanish. It is something like catching your own shadow.

I have to answer THIS one.
This is a TRUE story.
(You've most likely noticed that if you have a hose set to spray a mist of water and the sun is to your back, it can create a good rainbow effect right before your eyes. I don't know the scientific reason why, but the sun shining on water droplets refract the rainbow colors and reflect them back to you.)
On with my story.
I lived on the Hawaiian island of Oahu for six years from 1969 to 1975.
One morning I was riding my motorcycle past Koko Head Crater in a light mist of rain. The sun was shining behind me and I saw a rainbow VERY close just to my right and arching toward me.
As I continued to follow the curve around the crater, It appeared to keep moving closer until I could see the rainbow colors between me an my right side rear-view mirror.
I followed the trajectory and low and behold.... it ended right in my lap!
I swear this is a true story. It amazed me, so I'll NEVER forget it.

You can't stand at the end of a rainbow, because there is no end. If you looked at a rainbow from up high (like in an airplane or tall building) , rainbows actually form full circles. You see half-circles, because the ground is interrupting its path
