I always like your questions. Yes, I remember those days. Pea shooters were the bane of every girls existence. Bubble gum was considered a high crime and the boys, just about every one I knew carried a pocketknife. But it wasn't considered a weapon... nor do I ever remember it ever being used as one. It was a tool. Disagreements got settled on the play ground and if it got out of hand the other kids would usually step in. If that didn't work, the teachers took care of it. But you really didn't want it to go that far...

I do. The city where I went to high school used to have something like 5 parochial high schools, 2 private ones, and 2 or 3 public ones. Several of the parochial and public high schools closed, and the other catholic schools left the city, so there's only 1 pubic high school left now. One of my daughters goes there, along with 6,000 other kids and it's listed as one of the worst schools in NY State. Times have changed.

Yup! I was one of those that got caught with both those items and others too.
Now if a kid touches another kid on the shoulder just to get his attention he is expelled, or, at a dance there is no slow dancing because of the same rule "No Touching of Any Kind." All facts!
I can only imagine what is going on after school-nuff said!

Yes, and it brings back lots of good memories. Those really were the good ole days compared with what is going on in the world today and especially in our schools.

Yes I remember but times have changed and we should change with them. Those times have passed and we are strong enough and intelligent enough to meet the challenge of today.
