They definitely are a huge duo for the pop country of the 90s. In fact, they are the poster children for it.

They are for the 90s as Alabama was for the late 70s early 80s and Flatt & Scruggs were for the 50s&60s.

As far as talent is concerned, they are a great pair of songwriters, similar to that of the Owens' & Teddy Gentry in Alabama. The Bellamy Brothers were also similarly talented.

Here is the only hang up that Brooks N Dunn have for becoming one of the greatest of all time. They have never had a Top 40 crossover Pop/Hot 100 hit on Billboard. Alabama had several. The Bellamy's had 2. In this day and age when country's labels are overly concerned with crossover appeal to a mass audience, Brooks N Dunn hasn't really had it.

*Take that back, they had 1 song, a Roger Miller tune "Husbands and Wives" crossover pop back in the early 90s.

You folks do realize that there is a difference between a duo and what would be a duet partner? Loretta and Conway or George and Tammy would be duet partners while Brooks n Dunn are a duo much like the Bellamy Brothers or currently Sugarland and Montgomery Gentry. I suppose B&D have been successful over the last 15 years.

Yes, I would have to say they are. Tammy and George had separate solo careers, as did Conway and Loretta. I think Montgomery Gentry are almost as talented. They seem to be in the same "groove" as Brooks and Dunn. Eddie Montgomery and Kix Brooks seem to be the same sort of stage personality.

I would have to disagree. I say either Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn or George Jones and Tammy Wynette. Brooks and Dunn are good, don't get me wrong , but my vote would go to someone with decades of hits. Ain't that right OKIEFAN??

George Jones / Tammy Wynette. Conway Twitty / Loretta Lynn.

for my section i'm hoping that the democrats make a clean sweep of this election cycle, run each and every a sort of depressing, stunning wing, reactionary, neo-con artists out of Washington and as many of the 50 u . s . a . as possible....then they are able to play 'chuffed Days Are right here lower back' and John Prin's, 'Your Flag sticky label won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore'! it is the cost ticket!

Not nearly as great but I thought I would at least give an honorable mention to Moe Bandy and Joe Stampley.

Maybe for today, but for all time, they got some stiff competition. You got them against:
Haggard and Jones
Waylon and Willie
Haggard and Willie
Conway and Loretta
George and Tammy
Plus many others that I am sure to be forgetting right now. That would be in the jugement of each listener to decide that one. Sorry I couldn't help ya any better. Take care.
