In any large place of gathering, there are going to be a certain number of heart attacks and strokes, and some will be fatal. Walking and walking and walking, when you're not used to it is going to be hard on you. So is baking in the sun if you're not used to it. Eating carnival food to excess is likely to stress you as well.

But no one has ever died as the result of an accident at Cedar Point.

Next time someone tries to tell you about the time Demon Drop flew off it's tracks, or about how many people have died riding Top Thrill Dragster - don't believe it!

How long has the place been around. 1869? And in the 1950s, the place was getting pretty run-down. It's a wonder there wasn't one then. And sooner or later, it's bound to happen. That's why they are called "accidents", after all - they are accidental.

But they seem to be paying a lot closer attention to safety than some rodent-infested parks we can all name....

No. Check out this article regarding ride safety in Ohio (it mentions Cedar Point): http://www.pointbuzz.com/news.htm?id=650

Excerpt: "Cedar Point spokesman Bryan Edwards said Cedar Point has never had a ride-related fatality. Unfortunately, there have been some rare occurrences when guests have died at the park or while on a ride, but it wasn't caused by the ride, but some pre-existing condition, he said."

There have been injuries and (as mentioned above) pre-existing condition deaths but, no ride-related fatalities. Check out www.rideaccidents.com for info on accidents.

Cedar Point is one of the safer parks to go to. I don't know of any fatal accidents that have accured there. Of course, that doesn't mean people haven't died as the result of illnesses either, but I hardly ever hear of those deaths at CP. You can always check www.rideaccidents.com for a listing of ride accidents that have occured all over the world at amusement parks and carnivals.

try this website. because there are virtually no documented accidents that occured in theme parks, they made a section where normal people can claim, confirm, or just comment about the stuff.
