If my friend had the same last name I would just accept it because you cant really do anything about it, However if my friend had the same first name as me I would have my other friends pick a nick name for either me or her, because that could be a bit confusing(from experience).

But if my boy friend had the same last name as me I would do a through and through background check on his family. Because if his family line is too close to mine it would be really weird.

My best friend and I share a first name. Growing up I always got yelled at by my last name at his house, and the inverse at mine.

No big deal! Better to have this dilemma.
Our daughter-in-laws Mom, same first name and middle initial as mine.
Their youngest son the same name as our youngest son.
Daughter-in-law's Dad, the same nickname as my husband.
They live close and we have no problems.

I have met friends with my name at school before and it's funny we would just call eachother by our same names! Smiles! Yay! :)

This is the case in my friendship group, we have 2 samanthas so one of them is Sam and the other Sammy!
