To add on to the reality of the trick....and the clones....each night, someone fell into the tank of water and drowned. Was it a clone....or the original?
If you liked the movie, try the book. It's different, but equally creepy and fascinating.

I was too. The guy with the hat trick was cloning himself everynight and killing himself everynight in those water tanks. Remember the hat turned up a million times, and 2 cats when he was on the mountain.

Most people were confused and had given up trying to figure all the twists and turns of the script. In order to defeat the other, one side used a scientific miracle to do magic, and the other side used a hidden twin.

both of the men had doubles...they (the real men) killed each other's double so their doubles are dead...but one of the real men dies at the end so the one walking away "won"...hope that helps but it is confusing
