wat power supply do i need to run a 7300 gt my specs are AMD athlon X2 4200+ 2gb of ram PNY geforce 7300 gt 320 gb of hard drive and a 250 watt power supply. when i play games i get really low frames cause the images lagg like rainbow 6 vegas on 800x600 or is it because of my monitor its a hp pavilion f1703

That is a bit low of a power supply for that system. You should probably go up to at least 350W, if you ever plan to put a high powered video card, then go up to around 500W. 600W just for what you have now is a ridiculous overkill, despite what one person suggested.

To be honest, if you have settings on high, the problem is likely your video card is simply not powerful enough to handle the game. If it was a power supply problem, the game and perhaps even the entire system would be crashing.

Wow! You really need to upgrade that power supply! You don't always get the full output of any power supply. I recommend at least a 600 watt one.

A weak power supply will effect performance of your graphics card.

The power supply is the heart of a computer check with you Mobo mfg for the minimum wattage then go to www.newegg.com you can search user reviews

Okay... look at it this way.

say for instance...a light bulb needed 300 watts of power (just for argument sake)

and you only gave it 150 watts.

Would that light bulb be as efficient?

Or work to it's full Potential?

yea a 450w should work fine for you.

monitor has nothing to do with it.
