I find it very comfortable reading lying down but my dad always tells me NOT to read lying down because it helps to detereate the eye. Is that true??

I have never heard of that before, ever. My kids always would read laying down. HOW could that be true? Why don't you google it?

It puts strain on your eyes and gives you a saw back at times,but keep reading cause it`s good education for you.Happy reading

It's true, to some extent. You have to hold the book away from your eyes farther, which causes eye strain.

though I have heard that it's best for concentration to read sitting upright in a chair
