I was disappointed when BMW decided to cover the headlights with a plastic cover back in the 90s. Is BMW planning on bringing back the retro glass headlights on any of their current models or in the future?

Actually, BMW used glass headlights all the way in the 90's outside of the US. It's only in the US that require car makers to use plastics.

I don't know about newer cars, but I know all E36 cars have glass headlights in UK and Asia.

Glass lenses transmit light better and resists fading and stone chips better than plastics, and will never turn yellow.

I'm actually planning a trip to Asia soon, maybe after that I will have better info regarding what's outside of the US.

Aerodynamic reasons is what every car maker is trying to do these days. Glass headlights? Full size Spare? Runflat tires? all weight saving is welcome for gas mileage
