Give them a heart-felt apology and explain exactly how you feel. Have a good heart to heart conversation with that person followed by a hug or handshake.

Typically, I apologize.
However, there have been times when people have blamed me for their injured feelings, when I've done/said nothing that should have offended them. At that point, the best they can hope for is: If I've inadvertently hurt your feelings, I do apologize.
Which is my formal way of saying "Get over it".

I don't think it has happened for a while - but I know I used to keep saying "sorry" over and over again - and it often seemed to make things worse.
