last summer we had a guy who was a level 2 offender living at the corner of my street he was not supposed to be near a school or play ground, we have a play ground 200 ft from the corner and flyers were passed around, my block all went to the police station told them who this guy was and the next day the police picked him up, he is now serving 14 yrs.

To the little girl who said that all sex offenders are not pedophiles....Thank you for pointing that out. When you have children, things become less black and white. Any deviant is a threat to your child and protecting him is the most important thing in your life.

As for my neighbor, the sexual deviant, I would meet him and assure him that he is being watched as closely as one would watch a neighboring rattle snake and that if anything wacky were to be detected, he would suffer the indignity of having the police visit him as many times as it took for him to move away. Chao.

supervised when outside. Bring it to your children's attention the importance of not going into a stranger's home (even if they are your neighbors) and talk about how there are "bad people" out there - of course, not to scare them but instead inform them -- this talk, in my opinion, should be given whether or not a sex offender lives next door to you or not.

I would petition and fight it, as much as possible. Let the probation officer take him home with him or, the judge. I wouldn't want him around us. I keep a twelve gage over and under behind the bedroom door, and a .38 special in my drawer. These are to even out a argument.

I would have to move away..there is no other way to keep them safe from him unless you never let them out of your sight but that would be so unfair. Let them know they must never go near him...regardless what he says and have a secret code word with your kids and tell them if ever a neighbour/ friend / another family member needs to collect them for you they will say the word and if they dont know it go nowhere with them and get away as soon as possible...to alert a passerby.

Good luck.

I'd be thilled to know where the offender was. I would tell my children to stay far away from him and why. The sex offenders you have to worry about are the ones you DON'T know about.

I seriously think that i would move away. also if i know that this doesn't mean that there can't be another sex offender in my new neighborhood. but if i stayed i wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

I'd make that neighbor so miserable that they'd leave. Sex offenders have no place in society.
