Buy one like mine 400 rear axle horsepower 400 # torque 2006 Pontiac GTO 6 speed Stock. Unique fast and with modifications handles great and stops good too. Exhaust intake ECM performance upgrade sway bars wheels and tires. Everybody watch out. High 12 second 1/4 mile times. Street Machine that looks like a Grand AM but barks like a Corvette.

If you want a car that lasts then skip the EVO, you will need a spare tranny.
Couple of things.
Where do you live? (Snow?)
Insurance matter? (price)
How many people can it sit?
The Sky Redline will be a fun car to drive and the new GM warranty will help.
If you want 4 doors than the Pontiac G8 will rock. You will have to wait till it comes out though. 6.0 V8(nice)
If it snows and you want reliability than look at the Forester Sport XT (Turbo) It has an aggressive look and will give you Low 13 second to high 12 second quarter mile times with 500 dollar upgrades. AWD and lots of space.
Your parents will love the safety and AWD.
It is the closest thing that the U.S. has to the Forester STi in Japan and Europe.

Always buy used! A great vehicle that is fast is the Mitsubishi Evolution. You should be able to pick up a slightly used one for around 25-30 k if you look around awhile. Another fast car that is reliable is the Suburu WRX.
If you are looking for Domestic makes, the Pontiac GTO a couple of years old should fit into your price range.

Thats what i want too. I am currently looking at the Subaru Legacy GT '06. Comes turbo like WRX. Also a smog exempt vehicle (i live in california). So i can mod it as much as possible also since if you have an older car that is done well you get respect and looks

dude....with that cashh...and u want speed?...Def get the mitsubishi evo 8....ridicously fast for its sale...its the bang for ur buck: cheaper, better handling, and faster than the subaru STi which is even more expensive or if u want something semi luxury with that cash u can get a volvo S40 or S80 which are both fast and nice cars. If not then my last choice would prolly be the mazda Rx 8 mmm
Good luck on finding a car
