When I was younger, yes - a woman who was in a circle of friends - so I told the woman, "Hey, explain what you mean by that. I like learning from you." She was, of course, very complimented and took me under her wing. She taught me a lot - a real mentor for me!

Wow, you are a rare person indeed. Most people won't admit anyone else is brighter than they are...good for you! Yeah, I have some friends and relatives that are quite bright. One works at NASA and one is a neurologist. I feel like a retard around them. They usually end up talking with my husband about physics or something electrical. They will talk books and art with me, or kids, they know I know kids.

Yes , I can think of two at the moment, so I just avoid them
when I see them coming. Who the heck needs to put up with
that crap, when they do it on purpose on a topic that only they
seem to know or care about.

I've been accused of doing that very thing, but finally taught myself to speak on the level of the person I was talking to and that solved that.

yes... my husband! ... he talks about car stuff that I don't mind hearing... it's just that he expect me to remember it.

Ok, I'm not trying to be a girly girl... just somethings I listen to, but it just doesn't make much sense... to me. Doesn't mean I won't listen to him... Just don't expect me to remember it word for word. :)
