Rumor has it that the remnants of McCain's campaign may back Fred Thompson when he announces.
I've never like McCain because of his amnesty bill, which is exactly what killed it for him. It will be exciting to see even more support drummed up for Thompson though.

Although I am a Democrat, I honestly like John McCain. He's the better of the two senators from my voting state and has done a good job for Arizona.
But I don't think he is on track for the presidency. In fact, I believe he's way off track at this point, far more so than ever before.

McCain is primarily a RINO (Republican in name only) who is practically out of the race now. His supporters, if any, would likely flock to a democrat since that is primarily what McCain is except for his stance on Iraq.

I think, in the wake of the Kennedy-McCain Amnesty Bill, you're likely to find mainly ex-McCain-supporters.
Of the republican frontrunners, I did prefer McCain early on, though I never thought he had much of a chance. After the Amnesty debacle in the Senate, I suppose I could stomach Guilliani. I'd go with Tancredo if he had any chance, but we all know he doesn't.

I have nothing personally against McCain. I respect the man for his convictions and what he stood for. But the facts clearly out in the open is this:
If McCain cannot efficiently manage the finances and economics of his own campaign, how can he be expected to efficiently manage the economy of the whole nation once he becomes president?. It's scary for me to imagine that he could bring the whole US economy to bankruptcy once he got elected to office.
