Unfortunately not, my parents have their SHlT together and have a retirement at an early age. I guess somebody has to be the black sheep of the family, wish I had taken part of that family meeting when I got voted it!

I wish I could have. Mum and Dad were super. Mum very rarely raised her voice, so the few times she did, you noticed. She was able to keep a clean and tidy house 2 bedroom and 10 people, and I have more room and half the family and everything seems to be messy most of the time.
We kids were happy with what we had, even if it wasn't a lot, Mum and Dad always made sure we had what we needed, but kids today seem to want everything, and want it yesterday.
She was always able to give us nutritional meals on a tight budget, but my kids are far too fussy. I couldn't give them the same meal twice in a week.
Now my kids are earning their own money, most of the time they by junk which they get rid of again, when something new comes along. We were taught the value of the dollar, and how to save for what we wanted. And the difference between "I want" and "I need".
Maybe they were better parents because the times were different, but I think they would have been the best anyway.

You should have asked their age, too. I bet everyone that answered no is under 35. I can only hope that someday I am as great as my parents. I'm over 40, and starting to see some similarities.

I have been making unintended purchases at the grocery store like my mother did...you want the blue cheese stuffed olives and get home with garlic stuffed olives. THAT freaked me out. And my husband announced that he has become his mother with the forgetful thing LOL

I think I became a very cool, much more laid back version of my parents.
