I'M trying to download limewire and it says 'we cant start b/c there's a firewall program on your computer that won't let us access the internet'.
WDF!?!?!

There are literally dozens and dozens of different firewalls. Without you specifying just what brand of firewall that you use, any answer would just be guesswork.
But you should NEVER disable a firewall in order to make a game, a web cam or some program work, it is a major no-no. Your computer can be attacked or infected with worms and viruses in minutes!
Learn how to properly configure your firewall, but never disable it, even for a minute. A firewall is there for a very good reason: to protect you from hackers!
Firewall is your friend, it is not your enemy!

you dont want to get rid of a firewall.you may as well just say"here hackers..my computer and files are yours to do with as you please".what firewall do you use? i use the windows default and have limewire...no problems

When you installed your firewall you may have set the level of security so high that it blocks just about anything.

Hmm maybe you could read the user manual for limewire. I dunno just a thought.
