Everyone has an accent to some people. I once worked for a lady from Central America who couldn't understand my English at all. She asked if I spoke English!! Then she went on to say she was an English teacher (where she came from) so therefore she should know the correct pronunciation. She tried to teach me words which I already knew the meaning of but her pronunciation was way off....almost funny but she was really annoying. For example...symetry...she pronounced it as see-ment-ree.

I am from Manchester and now live in Colorado USA, so everyone here thinks I have an accent. The worrying thing is now when I go home everyone thinks I sound American. I suppose my accent belongs somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

While I was born and raised in the Southern United States, I'm proud to say I have no overpowering accent of any kind. In fact, I strive to keep my voice as neutral as possible. I am, however, trying to attain a simple Australian accent for fun.

Yes. I have a broad scouse accent even after living in Yorkshire for over 20 years. I miss hearing it from others and it becomes stronger when I am excited or angry!
