Basically, there wont be any LAN networks where I am traveling/staying, so I'm trying to figure out how to get access to a satellite coverage network or some such, but I'm clueless on the matter. I have a PC Card slot but that's pretty much all I have to work with. Any help would be appreciated here.

Most of the cell companies offer 3G wireless internet service today. You purchase the 3G service and the supply you with a PCMCIA card to plug into your laptop, and were ever you can get a cell signal you will also beable to access the internet on your laptop.

Most of the major cell phone carriers offer high speed data access nowadays, although "high speed" is relative in some areas and your coverage will depend on where you are going. Call your cell phone provider to see if they have any suggestions. Worse comes to worse, if you have a modem and a phone line you can fall back on dialup; the torture of going back to that slow again (not to mention the long distance you will be paying if your provider doesn't have a 1-800 number) may convince you to take that break from the Net for a little bit. ;)

If this is a business trip then you would be well served to find a list of Internet cafes. Otherwise leave the computer at home and enjoy your trip. Better yet take someone along to share the experience.
