They like the smell of napalm in the morning? For some strange reason republicans see being patriotic as backing a foolish policy because a republican President is in office. They didn't back Clinton on Kosovo. I think a correction is in order, democrats gave President Bush the authority to go into Iraq if he so chose, I don't recall them pushing to go. As a matter of fact what I do recall is President Bush, V.P. Cheney, Secretary of State Powell and National Defense Advisor Rice all on television beating the war drums and asking Americans do they want the proof of Saddam's intentions to be a mushroom cloud? They all manipulated congress in order to achieve the President's and Vice Presidents lust to go into Iraq. In my opinion, at this point it's being patriotic to say, enough is enough, we made a huge mistake.

another cool ade drinker.
First, it seems that Valerie Plame's Job as a Non-Covert Agent with the CIA was no big secret and if the press hadn't made such a big deal of it the rest of the world would STILL be in the dark.
Second, Democrats and Republicans alike VOTED to send troops to Iraq.
Put down the Cool Ade and see what's happening in the real world.

It amazes me the people who have little of no common sense. First of all, Valerie worked every day at CIA headquarters at Langley Va so, any third rate moron could follow her and know who she worked for. Libby didn't out her, hell, it was her job so what's the big deal. Besides, Libby buckled under intense interrogation and NO ONE can stand up very long and yes, a slip of the tongue, a wrong yes, or no, and you too would be telling lies and not mean it.
We have two choices, go to Iraq and loose people fighting the terrorists, or sit back like Bill did, and wait for another 911 and loose people right here in America. I fault the administration for being too soft over there, but again, after Abu Grave and a few other incidents the democrats yelled about, its no wonder our troops cant do their jobs effectively.
I say, turn them loose, kill any and all terrorists, even if hiding in a Mosque. Give them 6 months to finish training and killing terrorists, then leave, with the instructions that, if we come back to Iraq, it will be with 3 million degrees of temperature, and they supply the sand, and turn them into a glass parking lot.

They think that of themselves, nobody else with education does.
Patriotism denotes positive and supportive attitudes to a 'fatherland' (Latin patria). The 'fatherland' (or 'motherland') usually applies to a nation and/or a nation-state. Patriotism covers such attitudes as: pride in its achievements and culture, the desire to preserve its character and the basis of the culture, and identification with other members of the nation.
In the USA, a nation of laws, the character and basis of our culture does not rest with the government or its arm forces but with the constitution of the USA.
That is why, when the president takes his oath of office he swears to protect and defent the constitution of the USA.

Patriotic self delusion infects most Americans. The 1% of our nation wearing the uniform actually know the true personal cost of being a patriot...and deserve the right to call themselves one.

Republicans have a long History of sending others to do the dirty work for them. That is fact. In the impeachment of Bush and Cheney I think the crime of treason will come out in the open. Outing a active CIA agent is treason. As you may know Bush has ordered his former aid not to testify under oath to Congress. The investigations of Bush and Cheney will be greater than Nixon and Clinton added.

Come on...give it a rest about Valerie Plame. Her idiot husband was openly talking about her. Her status was not classified, and "outing" her was not illegal. The entire farce was a witch hunt.
As for the sending our boys to die...when the Iraq war began, it had overwhelming support. Pulling out the troops now would destroy Iraq, and show terrorists that we have not backbone to finish anything.

You fail to note the distinction between calling themselves "patriots" and actually being considered the same.
A few of the sheep, who want so desperately not to feel foolish for falling for that nonsense, may still cling to the notion of faux patriotism, but pretty much everyone is over the nonsense.

sending our boys to die? Last time I checked both parties authorized the fight in Iraq to free the iraqi people from a vicious bloody dictator. It wasn't until the next election started gearing up the the liberals started jumping ship and acting like they " never really meant it". And, yes, just over 3000 SOLDIERS have been killed in the fighting. Did you think war was like paintball? Did you forget the 2400 INNOCENT men women and children those bastards murdered on 9-11 or the hundres ond hundreds of others hurt?
Republicans are sending our boys to die? You need to get a new rhetoric, you can't back that one up with any facts, just more liberal party lines. Stop being a liberal tool, wake up and find the true facts first, then ask your question here.

To point out the obvious to even the most casual newsreader, the democrats voted for this too.
Everyone who's followed the Plame thing at all knows that she wasn't "outed". Notice no charges were filed against anyone for outing her. Libby was found guilty of lying to the special prosecutor. That's it.
Wherever you're getting your news, you need to find another place.
