No school prayer, unless a 100% religious school.
Which prayer would you use in public schools?

I would imagine so. When I first went to school in St. Louis, MO after moving there from Tennessee I was surprised to find that fish was served every Friday.

St. Louis also has a substantial and political active Jewish community that has in the past insisted the Menorrahs be displayed alongside Christmas Trees at the St. Louis County Courthouse.

So I think the answer to your question is yes. Other religious folks look after their own interests against Evangelicals.

They support it!!

Mitt Romney for one!

There are also Catholic who are my friends who support prayer in school!

But our view is not to enforce everyone to pray, It is for the law to say that if children wishes to pray in school then they should have that right!!

We are a Nation built on Christian Ideals, BTW! Our Founders, taught the bible in school, and had prayer everyday before class, with the students!!

I am Protestant/Evangelical!

You can look it up at EARSTOHEAR.NET

Go unto all the world and preach the Good News!

God bless!!

P.S.

Dearest Proud Nana,

God bless you, that was wonderful!!

Praise the Lord!!

Having been raised in a strict Catholic household -- as in daily mass strict -- and as the only Goy family in about a 1 mile radius I can say with confidence that Catholics and Jews support the separation of church and state.

The Jewish kids I went to school with were no more interested in having The New Testament shoved down their throats than we were The Talmud. We respected our differences and got along GREAT!

School prayer isnt "sanctioned"..... it is prohibited and against the law.

Who cares what they think. In a religious school, where the taxpayers don't support it, they can pray until they get callouses on their knees.

In public schools, supported by MY tax dollars, they can't....

Even tho in some places Muslims are allowed their prayer time in school the other faiths are not. (?????)

But PARENTS/CAREGIVERS. YOU CAN AND SHOULD PRAY WITH YOUR CHILDREN EVERY DAY BEFORE BED AND BEFORE THEY GO TO SCHOOL. NO MATTER WHAT YOUR FAITH. OUR CHILDREN ARE PRECIOUS. ===JUST A FEW MINUTES AGO AN AMBER ALERT WAS POSTED ON MY TELEVISION. PRAY FOR THAT CHILD.==
AS WELL AS YOUR OWN RIGHT NOW.
PRAY FOR ANY CHILD YOU SEE ON THE STREET. TEACH YOUR CHILDREN TO PRAY.

Since most school prayer is decidedly Christian in nature, I wouldn't. I don;t know about Catholics and Mormons, but the rest might find it objectionable.

Raised Catholic. Against OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED school prayer if it is MANDATORY. If it's a choice, I'm all for it. For all religions.
