like only leave all the default programs when u 1st got it?
i have a dell windows xp
i dont have the disc that is suppose to come w/all the programs
i have done this once but i 4got how i do remember restarting my computer and holding f12 or something and clicking ctrl many times but i tried that and it didnt work

DO NOT REFORMAT YOUR HARD DRIVE! (If you don't have an installation CD/DVD)

Follow the steps below to restore your dell to factory settings, but make sure you get antivirus up and running ASAP and update windows before you do anything else (unless you need to install drivers for new hardware, but don't connect to the internet until you do that.)

Go down to start click all programs, then accesories, system tools and then System Restore.

Oh one last thing if you done it before and you are still having problems I advise you go out and purchase you a new clean copy from a computer dealer and install a fresh copy not from a computer company , like dell or HP or any of the multitude of others that is cluttered with stuff you don't need and sometimes jacks your computer up.

you can try a system restore in start > all programs. or try shift f12 or or shift f11. see if that works. thats what i used when i had my dell.
