We all consider .300 batting average to be the .....starting point for seeing if he can hit-but what is it in OBP?

The league average tends to be in the .330s, so I'd put a "good" player at someone in the .360s or above. The elite are those above .400, and there are only 11 current players who have a career OBP above that number.

i would say .400. with a .300 batting average u should be able to have an obp of .400 if u can walk about 75 times in that year.

Barry Bonds is off the charts. I mean the guy is above 50%.

But usually .360 is a decent OBP.

For a lead off man .400.

For other players at least above .300.

I think .400 would be a good OBP....but a starting base, maybe .380.

Upper .300's is pretty decent. To crack the top 100 of all time you need a .390.

Over .400 is great.

Over .365 is very good
