I need to forward a port. I can connect to the router and surf the net, but I do not have the administrator password to change the settings by typing 192.168.1.1 in the browser. This is my brothers' router. I am watching his place until he comes back. I just need it for gaming and using other software that require port forwarding.

If you can't get access to the router's management interface there's no way to set up port forwarding. Sorry.

To forward ports on the router, you need to change the router configuration.

You can try forwarding those ports if you have a software firewall running as well (which would usually be pointless to have both running), but it won't change the actual router settings.

This may or may not fix your problem though, since I've been using a physical router, I've had no troubles with my games not getting in/out, but with my software firewall before I had a router I would have to configure it every time.
