Yep, there is a law that requires you to pay an income tax.

The 16th amendment to the United States constitution specifically gives Congress the power to levy income taxes and enforce the collection of those taxes. The 16th amendment didn't specifically create any tax laws. However, it makes all the tax laws that congress has passed since the amendment's ratification legal. The IRS is perfectly legal because they are the government agency officially sanctioned to enforce the tax laws that are legally instated by congress. Everything I've said here has been upheld by the United States Supreme Court too many times to mention. If you want to skip out on taxes and fight the IRS based on some video that any uniformed idiot could have posted to YouTube, then go right ahead, but don't expect me to visit you in prison.

Yes, as well as the 16th Amendment. At least those are the portions of the Constitution that Authorize the federal gov't to collect taxes. I have no idea about the specific law that states we have to, but I'm sure it's out there in the US Code somewhere.

he tax act was passed in 1861. Another one in 1862 and that was when taxes were actually levied. But, it is under the 16th amendment that taxes are assessed today. It is a source o wonder to me, that the 16TH amendment sets a maximum limit of 7%.
