How many of you are
1. Active in your chosen political party... (more than just tossing dollars at them)

2. Have ever volunteered to support your political system.. (poll workers, etc.)

3. Have ever ran for a political office.

Its easy to talk the talk... but its pointless unless you step away from the computer and do something about it.

On first part, I wanted to know who did more than donate money....
Volunteering takes more time and dedication than writing a check..

I see so many people giving their opinions and speaking out, but it seems that some of the biggest talkers, have little or no action backing up their words..

(As for myself, btw, yes I am active with various groups and organizations, and have been a poll worker for many years. I watch every year as the board of elections scramble to move people, because they do not have enough people to work the polling booths on election day.)

1. I'm a registered Republican and a member of the Young Republicans. In 2004 I did some local campaigning for Bush. If I'm home I'll campaign for Thompson or whatever Republican gets the nod.

2. Never volunteered as a poll worker or anything of the like. Maybe I will in 2008. Good idea!!

3. Does High School count :)? I'd like to but I'm kinda young (25). I do plan on making a run in my lifetime though. That's why I joined the YRs and am active in their events.

You're right, talk is cheap. Action is what proves your resolve.

1. My chosen political party is voting for the best candidate rather than a party.

2. I used to be a democrat until they went so radically left on me. During that time I volunteered in the governor's campaign.

3. No and I will not. People who put common sense ahead of party politics NEVER get elected, and I would expose so much corruption that the other politicians would find a way to throw me out anyway.

I do my part as an American Voter.. I have the same right to voice my opinion as someone who chooses to volunteer. Some people don't have the time to volunteer or help hands on with their political party, but instead use the time they have to research, listen and read about the candidates that you are volunteering to help. I'm secure knowing that I fulfill my American duty by simply voting. If that's not good enough for you or anyone else, I frankly don't give a D amn!!!

Let me think about this definition of yours as to being active. OK, I thought it over, I disagree with your definition. I have voted in every Presidential election since turning eighteen, thirty six years ago. Write my representatives about every issue that is important to me. Keep in touch with the mayor of my small town. Changed parties because I didn't like what the democrats were doing and became independent. Wrote my supervisor of elections to find out what is being done to track my electronic vote and then asked about it at the polling station before casting said vote. Research the voting records of those I consider giving my vote. Try to stay current about the political climate in my country by using more than one source of information. I don't toss dollars at politicians, they steal enough from me without giving it to them. I support my political system by voting and no, I have never run for office. Am I doing enough in your opinion?

Mam, with all due respect, It's not how you can support as you say in dollars, or are politically active in our government!

It's only the people collectively that will make a difference in this world, so the best we can do is encourage others to vote for those in favor of America, preferably Christian Ideals!!

So get out there, and get the base energized and ready!

I work more on issues and writing those already elected. Right now I am waiting for Fred Thompson to get into the race, so haven't donated any money yet. In years past, I put up signs for candidates and etc. in local elections.

I'm neither active nor affiliated with any political group. If fewer were affiliated with such idiotic groups, the government might, just might, get something done. No, I've never run for political office. Not allowing myself to associate with partisan political groups I could never be elected. It is easy to talk the talk as you say. And there is nobody better at talking the talk than members of our political parties. And for those dems and repubs that are not sitting at their computers like us, tell me, which of those party members are doing something about anything?

Hillary will raise the $500 million needed to win. Obama and Edwards will not. It's about money and power, not at all about the person, Hillary has both. I don't waste any of my time on party activity except the free lunch at the Country Club paid for by the Republicans. I get a free lunch and they ask for money. I just send lots of cash to Hillary.
