my parents are geting a divores and i'm nervouse i might have to go to court and i'm afraid he will win and get visatashion of me can anyone tell me ways to stay calm and what to do PLEASE HEELP ME I'M ONLY A 10 YEAR OLD KID!!!!!!!

Is there a reason why he shouldn't be getting any visitation? If all your parents do is fight and bicker then it probably is better than staying together. Most mothers get custody of the children, unless the father can prove her unfit which is really hard to do. Good luck and hang in there.

In most Custody battles they will assign a family evaluator who will talk to everyone in private, and then see you interact in a group. And then she/he will write a report based on her findings on what she thinks is best interest of the children. They will ask you things in private most likely like how you feel about the divorce, where you want to live, and why. That woudl be the time to tell her the truth and explain to them how you are feeling. Good Luck with this. My parents went through an ugly divorce and the nastiest custody battle and it was really hard and scary, but just stay calm and maybe keep a diary or find some way of getting your feelings out. Talk to friends or these message boards. I am sure everything will work out, it just takes time. Just keep your head up and stay strong.

I think your old enough that the court will ask for your point of view. But why don't you want to stay with your dad??? That's the question?? Everything OK?? Hang in there everything will be ok. Take Care

If you are afraid of your father for any reason, tell them you want a law guardian and then tell the law guardian(a lawyer assigned to you) what you have told us.

It sounds like you are frightened of your father.Maybe you need to talk to your mother and tell her of your fears.
