There's a lot of drills out there: ask your coach he/she sould know some but here are some:

Freestyle:
Ketchup: while swimming freestyle, leave the one arm out in front until the other one catches it and the move that arm through the motions. keep doing this

Tarzan: swim free style with your head out of the water

Fists: Instead of having your hands cupped make fists and swim freestyle.

KICK: anyway you want with out using your arms at all!!!

PULL: get a pull boyay put it between your legs, squeeze them tight and don't knick AT ALL!

There are some if you need other strokes just ask!
Hope these help.

I agree with he swimming around 2.5 hours a day. Dryland for a half hour after. Always stretch before and after swimming. Doing plyometrics and lifting are what really helps you improve on a physical level. In the protein shake part, they don't do anything for your speed. What protein shakes are good for is weight gain. If you just do those Boost drinks with a protein boost you will be fine. Until you are in high school don't do any weight lifting or shakes. Once you get to high school you need to be lifting, and ask your coach about the protein shakes.

Do interval training for speed, where you do a sprint and then rest between each one. You can also use hand paddles, pool buoys, kick boards and then flippers for focusing on your arms and legs
