Personally, I use both, If I feel overately sucky I just use a pad. If I am going swimming I use a tampon. If I am going out, I use both. The tampon to take care of it for awhile and the pad in case things overflow, so that way it won't end in an embarassing trip to the bathroom.
Hope that helps!

Pads are healthier for you. With tampons you'll have a small chance of contracting TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome). If you still decide to use tampons, use the lowest absorbency possible and make sure you change your tampons every four to eight hours. When you go to sleep, set an alarm clock to make sure you get up on time to change your tampon! If you choose to use pads only, make sure you select some according to your flow (light, medium, heavy, overnight). You can use them together for extra leakage protection. Good luck on your selection!

Every women is different.
Personally I prefer tampons, just in case of infection, I wear pads to bed. & when I feel really uncomfortable some days I wear pads. Overall.. tampons are cheaper, cleaner & meet the needs of most women.
Try both hun, see which one you like best, or just alternate. XD

Tampons--after I tried them I never used a pad ever again. Pads are messy and they can smell really bad.
If you chose to use tampons, please remember to use the right size according to the strength of your flow. If you use too heavy of a tampon, that puts you at risk for TSS.
Personally, I have not had any problems with tampons. I use Tampax Pearl and they're the best! That backup braid is amazing! Can't count how many pairs of panties that has saved!

well,I use Tampons because they are cleaner and i don`t like the idea of sitting on blood all day. I used pads for the first 6 months, but then i tried tampons and i`ll never use pads again!
I use Tampax Pearl and love them. You may have you try many different brands to find the one for you.
The two web sites below will help you find your perfect tampon/pad.

Tampons are really great when you go swimmimng etc. or wear tight clothes, you just have to learn how to put them in and remember about changing them. But my gynecologist doesn't reccomend me using them, because I get infections very easily. So I use pads, and tampons when I really need to (beach, under summer dress). You just have to try both and decide what will work out for you.

Pad's for me. There is an increase in TSS in recent years. Toxic shock makes you infertal at the least, and you can die from it. So many girls are using tampons because they think it's cleaner, it's not. The blood collects bacteria around the tampon that can kill you. The body cleans itself out naturally and has to flow. I know it's a hassle, but it's safer. Another thing is that all women can go without wearing a thong for a week...

that's something you're going to have to figure out on your own. I can almost bet that if you were to ask a large group of adult women, 90-95% would say they prefer tampons. But a small group will say pads.
To me, pads feel disgusting. They make me feel like I'm wearing a diaper. Tampons allow you to partake in all athletic activities without problems. Pads do not allow that luxury.
Just try them both , you will figure it out.
