I love punctuation.
It's extremely nice.

needed sometimes when you see someone write on here and they never use punctuation and its very long and they keep talking with a long story and it feels never ending and by the time you get halfway through you are out of breath and wonder if they really do talk endlessly or that they didn't use punctuation and it really drives me crazy
lol period

um, I would say it's not absolutely necessary, but not in the extreme. It helps when it is there. I personally find it very hard to decipher all those fragments and strings of abbreviations, although I don't mind the occasional ;P
I like it, but i don't always use it. So i guess you could call me a flip-flopping hypocrite. Oh, and don't forget how flaky and unreliable I am.

without puncuation you couldn't tell if someone was happy, sad, excited or confused.
If someone said (wrote) ...
I love it!!
and they did it with out punc. it would look like this
i love it
and you wouldn't be able to tell if they were being real or sarcastic. Punc. is like our voice. Imagine a world were everybody spoke monotone-robotic. That, my friend, is a world witout punc. It is a world without feeling.
So Definitely, punc. helps convey a message.....in my view....
Does that help or no? ('Cause sometimes I can get carried away.....)

If I have to sit here and read something without the necessary punctuation, I'll go batshit.

Yes of course it helps, because even the slight little thing like not putting a commer in can change what the sentence says/means.

How about if I send you a 400 page manuscript with no punctuation, no paragraph indents, and no capitalization, and then you tell me? It counts for a lot!

Look at these two sentences:
Let's eat, Mommy!
Let's eat Mommy!
Spot the difference?
