I would say I would rather hear the truth every time - even if it does hurt more initially. Being lied to definitely hurts more if you then find out the truth - not only do you have the truth to deal with, but also the hurt that you believed the lie and were made a total mug off. As my mother would say "Tell the truth and shame the devil", but you have to be brave to face the truth, some people want to live in ignorance and would prefer a lie anyday, not me though.

To lie is always more hurtful as the truth always outs in the end.

The lie, yes the truth can hurt, but if someone is lying to you and you find out it hurts 10 times worse.

hmm thats a hard one, the lie hurts more if you find out the truth after. The lie doent hurt more if you dont know the truth! If that makes sense. I would usually say I prefer the truth but from life experience I have come to realise that some things are best lied about!

The lie - I would much rather someone be 100% truthful with me, even if it does hurt, it doesn't hurt as much as finding out someone lied.

The truth exposes the lie so it is a purifying pain hopefully if we learn from it. The lie lasts longer and corrupts. So the lie is always worst.
