Does anyone know if Premarin is safe to take LONG TERM? I used to be on Premarin for 7-8 yrs?

Then the Dr took me off it. That was approx 5 yrs ago. Now my hot flashes are coming back. I looked it up on the internet and can't find if the 'powers that be' have changed their minds agian or not. I will be 50 next month and have had a hysterectomy becuase of cancerous cells. The Dr is closed for the weekend.

You can always call your local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist about it... I know CVS Pharmacists are very helpful and would do their best to give you the most accurate information that they have. I wouldnt rely on an answer on here, I would much rather have a professional opinion from someone who really knows what they are talking about, pharmacist have went throught alot of extensive schooling to do what they do. I would definatly call them to check on that. Pharmacist can look up any information on any drug that they have, if there have been any long term effects of taking the medication they may be able to find that or direct you to who could such as the drug company, or find studies that have been conducted Good Luck!
