Yes, of course it is in a number of ways. The most well known but little understood is through psychic means, although science is beginning to get to grips even with that. The other way is through demographics. Through taking surveys and statistical analysis companies and governments can make short and even long term projections. Also, people who study sociology, psychology and history can make accurate predictions about trends. It's no surprise to anyone if young people don't believe in the psychic when the media and entertainment industry presents it as a fiction. It is well known that people up to the mid twenties are heavily influenced by popular culture and will believe what they are told by popular culture. It the pop stars and movie stars told people the moon was made of green cheese, you could predict that statistically most young people would accept it, despite their education.

Depends. For example I know that the Sun will rise in the East tomorrow, but I'm not so sure about which horse will win the 2.50 at Ascot.

Unfortunately, my local bookie isn't taking bets on the direction of tomorrow's sunrise.

Imagine life as a tree. From one trunk many branches. Each branch has many twigs. Each twig has many leaves.

You decide how to climb your tree. Choose carefully and you may reach the highest leaf. Choose unwisely, and you may fall.
