i mean, have you ever given someone advice on here and then think well, i should be doing that myself, i mean, it's always easier said than done, just curious if anyone else ever gives advice that you know is the right thing to do but then stop and think, do you handle the same situation like that, and if not, why aren't you taking your own advice?...lol...just a funny thought wanted to get other peoples opinions on this....

this is why i really take a long look at the question and only answer the one's i understand because i've been in the situation or i only give advice that i would do myself, at one point i did answer something and then thought hey, i don't do that when i'm in that situation so now i give the 100% truth to my answers, this site is not a game or competition to me, i seriously want to help people.

Sure but whoever says "Do as I do?" It's always "Do as I say." It's a bit of the same philosophy practiced by clergymen, teachers, parents, public service announcers, celebrities, politicians and just about anyone on a soapbox.

The lesson is never take the answers here too seriously. Yahoo is loaded with trolls, pranksters, impersonators, kids masquerading as adults, you name it; most just want a reaction out of strangers and love seeing there words in "print."

Read what people say, filter it through your own common sense, throw away the nonsense then use whatever is left as a way to start yourself thinking. The answers to your problems can only come from inside you. But sometimes hearing another's opinion can give you a new perspective that's been eluding you.

Sometimes. One time I actually typed out the perfect answer and then deleted it because I did not feel good about giving advice that I myself have a hard time following. It was actually an eye opener for me. I try not to judge to harshly because none of us are perfect. Now I stick to the questions that I can answer truthfully. I think it helps to relate personal experiences. Good question!

Past experiences sometimes prompt me to post. Most times I tend to answer questions that I may have experience with.
Sometimes I answer out of genuine concern for the posters situation.
I hope that something I might have said helped another in a positive way.
I've only once not taken the advice I promoted but paid for it later and learned.

99% of the time, I follow my own advice.

The other 1% of the time I'm stalling because I don't want to own up to the situation yet - but it's been a long time since I've seen that 1%. I've gotten more secure in making decisions as I've matured. :)

Couldn't agree with you more, when you look at other peoples problems, it seem like your way is the only way and then you can't understand why they havent done it already. Thats why I like to answer questions that I reall can relate to.
