I wouldn't get one, the radiation and heat will probably kill you. You should be glad they are far away - otherwise the Earth will be scorched.
Oh well, here's one from me anyway.
And a few more....

The stars being far away has helped life on Earth. When other stars come near the solar system, the orbits of comets in the Oort cloud are perturbed, and may strike the Earth with disasterous results. Fortunately, stars are far apart and this does not happen very often.
The density of stars in our part of the galaxy is set by the Spitzer-Schwarzschild effect. There is a layer of dense interstellar gas, with a characteristic height of about 300 lightyears. This layer both forms stars, and scatters them out of the plane of the Galaxy. The thickness of the layer is set by the average soundspeed in molecular material.

Fine! When you consider that the temperatures of stars are in the thousands of degrees and they are far larger than the earth - the further away the better. Our sun has a surface temperature of 6000 degrees - you would boil before you got even close to it. At its distance (about 150,000,000 kilometres from us) it can damage us. Think of skin cancer - that's why you should use sunscreen.
If you want to be burned to a crisp go It will only take you 8 minutes to reach the sun or 4.5 years to reach the next closest star traveling at the speed of light. And remember........its a one way trip!

The nearest Ive got to having stars of my own is the 50 or so glow in the dark ones i have on my bedroom ceiling !.
Ive got a few spare and you can have one of those if you like ?.
I think there is a website somewhere where you can pay and have a star named after you ?, that would be the next best thing to owning one !!.

Be glad the stars aren't very close. A burning ball of hydrogen a million miles wide would really ruin your day if it landed on you (or anywhere near Earth).
The closest star is our Sun, and it is about 93 million miles away.

You just have to wait for the apocalypse! The Book of Revelation says stars will fall from the skies! You'll be able to just walk around and pick them up like shells on a beach! You could make a necklace or something, maybe with matching earrings!
And I am constantly assured by Christians that the apocalypse is happening ANY DAY NOW! So don't go on vacation or anything 'cos you might miss it!

Um... Because if stars were closer they could reak havic on our orbit and our solar system. And if you had a star if you got with in so many thousends of miles near it, it would kill you... Why don't you just buy a star and name it after you or something... much less deadly.
