According to some reports Al Qaeda is stronger then ever
and our government has been claiming that all the terriorists are in iraq

therefore my question is if its true then what progress have we made in iraq in over 4 yrs ( if Al qaeda is stronger then ever)

The only progress that i can see is that in the past a roadside bomb use to kill 30 people now it kills 100
and other progress that i have seen is we are loosing our brave ( American) soldiers faster then ever

At this point, most Americans have come to understand that we were lied into the invasion of Iraq.

Iraq had nothing to do with the terrible national tragedy of 9-11. There were no Al Qaeda in Iraq prior to our invasion.

We have made the following changes in Iraq.

1. It is now a training ground for terrorists. Terrorist groups from all over the world send their people to Iraq for training in IED's and suicide bombings.

An example of this is that at one point suicide bombings were unknown in Afghanistan. Now, there is approximately one suicide bombing a week in Afghanistan.

2. We have created a civil war in Iraq. The Sunni hate the Shia hate the Kerds and vice versa. Be assurred, Iraq will have its civil war whether we pull our troops in ten minutes or ten years.

3. The United States has lost its moral superiority and the good will of the entire World. After 9-11, we enjoyed incredible good will among the nations of the World. Since invading Iraq, we have become progressively less well thought of as lie after lie after lie of the Bush Administration's reasons for going to war surfaces.

4. We have pursuaded the great majority of Iraqis that they want us out of their country.

5. To date, we have spent 563 BILLION dollars in a war that never needed to be fought in Iraq. Do you wonder what good things we could have done domestically in our country with those billions? What could we have done for social security, health care, education, etc. with those billions?

6. There are lots more accomplishments to list. Would anyone like to enumerate more?

We have made very little progress in Iraq over the last 3 years.

Iraq itself (the new govt) has done very little, and violence continues to increase consistently. After a brief lull in early June, the past few weeks have seen record numbers of attacks.

So, as many have predicted, all we've done is wear out our military focusing on something that has nothing to do with the "war on terror", while allowing known terrorists to re-arm and recruit because the US military was otherwise occupied.

None of this is news to anyone who's been paying attention.

A vote for a Dem will not get us out of this war. There has been no progress, only death on both sides and a focal point for Al Qaeda.

Your statement is saying liberal dems think this way, but don't confuse me with one. Why do you feel it is necessary to say that because you think there's a lack of progress in Iraq? That's like Mr. Whittington apologizing to V.P. Cheney for Cheney shooting him, never did understand that. As sad as it might be to say, welcome to the reality of Iraq.

the bombings and attacks are just on a larger scale and the media plays them up big time. now how many innocent people are killed daily in detroit, la, new york , or our own capital of washington dc. where is the media coverage for this.
we are in a war over there, people die in wars, better fighting it on someone elses soil them confronting on our own turf.

Nice... and we don't hear anything about our success over there. Seems like we don't wipe out a single insurgent... or is it just the news coverage ?

I would bet on the news coverage.
