i've heard "once a cheater, always a cheater", but that is not always the case. it seems like it's more likely to happen again, they just hide it better.

This is a tough question. Eeryone is different. I'd say most people cheat because something is missing in the relationship. I doubt most people cheat just because they can, although, I imagine there are a few like that, as well.

I cheated and have been cheated on. (I am a woman) I cheated because I was missing something in the marriage....HIM...he was gone, out of the country for 15 months. I tried so hard to stay faithful, but one drunken night, I was weak and it happened. And I have not cheated since (its been 3 years) and can almost for certain say I will not do it again...EVER! I have been given opurtunity to cheat since then, and have always kept my morals front and center where they belong.

My husband cheated on me becuase he was lacking sex and attention in the marriage. So he says. We were really messed up at the time of his affair, things were not well. So, I can kinda understand why he did. Do I think he will do it again? Hell yes, I do. And only cuz of what I have heard about him since his affair.

So, the old saying once a cheater, always a cheater....The men may dog for me this, but I really believe it applies more to men than to women. And only based on my personal experiences. Noone knows for sure. I may cheat again, I hope I dont. I dont want to He may not ever cheat again. Noone really knows for sure. I would just say that I do think it would be easier to do it again if you were forgiven and taken back. When cheaters are forgiven and taken back, there arnt really any consequences to their actions, now are there?

Honestly, people are going to tell you that "once a cheater, always a cheater". I would have agreed a few years ago. I now believe that if a person is truly sorry, it will never happen again. The only problem is that only the cheater really knows how sorry the are. It's a gamble for the cheatee either way.

If they paid high consequences and learned a lesson from it, it's possible to change and not do that again. BUT if they are players, and didn't learn a thing, or "got by" with it with a slap on the wrist, they might be inclined to do it again. I don't believe in once a cheater always a cheater. I KNOW from experience a person can learn and want to do better, and just make the decision to, but if they are immature, and don't understand the magnitude of their transgression, then they will do it again, until someone inforces consequences that hurt them enough to make them want to change.

I think if there was a specific reason that caused the cheating to happen. For instance the spouse was always traveling? or the spouse acted like sex was repulsive or some other reason that can be resolved the cheater may then become faithful.

well as sorry for me to say this but i did try to cheat on my wife recently and I'm paying a hell of a price for it. But I know also from personal experience that when a man cheats, its usually because he isn't happy with the situation at home. In my case, going without sex for almost a year.

the chances of it happening again are good, because its part of their character, if they had any morals, and loved u as they should they never would have betrayed u in the first place. once something is broken its really hard to mend it, and once someone sleeps with another person u will always know he chose them over u.

I agree with most, yes there is a very high likelihood it will happen again, unless there are severe consequences that totally blow the cheater away. Then there may be some chance he/she can change.

Beats me.....I get rid of the lying no-good mother-fvckers if they do it once.

Fvck'em. They're garbage if they do it....don't need it. No one does.

I imagine if they have the gonads to do it once and they start ballin' and boo hoo'in, and you take the dumbass back, they'll just grow bigger balls and do it again...and I'm talking about WOMEN as well as men.

Women are just as big of pigs as the men are.

Don't waste your time if you are asking for yourself.

April....I'm with you baby!

YOu noe's on it too!
