Fisher reportedly set to rejoin Lakers next season
Fisher reportedly set to rejoin Lakers next season
July 13, 2007
LOS ANGELES (TICKER) -- The Los Angeles Lakers and Derek Fisher have agreed in principle to a three-year, $14 million deal, according a report by the Los Angeles Times on Thursday.
Two weeks ago, Fisher asked to be released from his contract with the Utah Jazz in order to relocate to a city with more appropriate medical care for his one-year-old daughter Tatum, who is battling a rare form of eye cancer.
Fisher first must clear waivers before he can offically sign with the Lakers, who already have three point guards under contract for next season.

Try the latimes.com for the up to date Fisher news. All the story are the same that the Lakers and Fisher have agreed in principle to a 3 year deal around 14-16 million. However, Fisher has to clear waivers which should happen next week.
Only thing that can hold it up is a team claiming him off waivers just to spite the Lakers. That team would then be responsible for Fishers 21 million remaining over the next 3 years which is unlikely.

they're thinkin about signing him
i hope they don't...he's way past his prime and he is a step slower nowadays. Plus he needs to focus on cancer treatment for his daughter iono how he's gonna cope with that while playing basketball...he wouldn't help himself and the lakers
EDIT:
they just signed him...ahh
" Update: Fisher and the Lakers have agreed to a three-year contract worth about $14 million, according to league sources, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reports.
Recommendation: There will be a holding period before he can sign the contract, because Fisher, who was released by Utah last week, has to clear waivers first. It will take seven days before he clears waivers, and that won't start until his previous contract that he walked away from is amended to zero dollars. As of Wednesday night, the Jazz have not filed the paperwork with the NBA about Fisher's release. Once they do, the seven-day waiver period will begin."
