cute subtext.
To me living on the edge is almost constantly putting yourself out there, doing things that puts at least a tinge of discomfort in your bones.
"Our truest life is when we are in our dreams, awake."
-Throeau
It appeals to me as a lifestyle, but I do not practice the art of living on the edge. I'm more of a dream cadbury's caramel kinda rabbit.

Definitely a Cadburys Caramel bunny!
The closest I came to the 'edge' was when I did a 2yr stint for an advertising co. Working till 4am, living on coffee & cigarettes, deadlines, a ***** of a boss, mental challenges at every turn, pressure, beer and karaoke. That was my life. It was thrilling and I miss parts of it.
Now I concentrate on painting, far more relaxed and the only edges are around the canvas! No more fags or booze and a reduced blood pressure to boot. :-)
Still miss it deep down somewhere though!

Living on the edge to me would mean that I would always be doing something that was unexpected or unusual. And that even I wouldn't know what I was going to do next.
To me, extreme sports could be part of a "living on the edge" lifestyle. Scaling mountains and the like.
Living on the edge could also mean taking your car one day, and just driving. Driving with no destination. Until you get somewhere.
People who live on the edge, in my opinion, see more of life and appreciate it more. They run on adrenaline. They are more free than other people and aren't tied down by limits of any kind.
And hell yes, I would love that kind of lifestyle for myself. But I'm still a student...

Living on the edge is someone who cannot adapt and evolve with the tedium that goes with being alive at times. As a result, the person thrusts themselves into a perpetual state of anxiety or excitement.
People who live on the edge usually suffer from similar health issues and early death. Better to be dead and have excitement than have a little tedium in one's life.
It's a choice.

I think living on the edge is taking risks without looking at the bigger picture on how it will affect others. The people who live on the edge I imagine are very much "me me me" people. Even if I wanted to be like that I couldn't, its just not in my nature. I am the type who checks what I do is ok with everyone else before I do it! You could say that I am the boring type! lol

I wouldn't describe my lifestyle overall as living on the edge...how could it be? I'm an accountant!...but there are certain parts of my life where I think I'm quite adventurous.
I think you need a balance to be truly happy - when you do something daring, you need a "safe" place to retreat to.

living on the edge ... taking a walk on the wild side, not being afraid to take a chance, experimenting all that life has to offer (within reasonable reason :) and I couldn't imagine my life any other way.

When the next step or action could destroy everything.
Done it - loved it for a while then wised up although still get occasional yearnings!
