The ones that still remember Waco and Ruby Ridge do, though.

There used to be a time when the government feared the people. That's the way the writers of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution wanted it.
To have it otherwise is to have the same tyranny that they rebelled against.
Now the US govt can imprison you without anyone ever seeing you again. If the government was truly afraid of their people, they wouldn't get away with any of this.

Some do, most don't. Both are correct. It is not unwise to be wary of any Govt. They can either deliberately, or accidentally roll over and squash you like a bug, if they so desire. Granted, to most of the citizens, this is not an issue, much less a concern, but being aware of your actions and their possible implications is not unreasonable either. Sh*t happens.

I do, more than ever. Even the social problems in the US during VietNam did not come near the level of the problems we have now. It seems a lot of our elected officials want to ignore the constitution, and if this continues this country will fall apart.

I found out that a Political Apointee wanted my job and was trying to use my Vietnam Service as a basis to have me replaced. That and watching WACO on TV changed my mind.
